Africa-Press – Liberia. The Deputy Director-General of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), Cllr. Moiffee Kanneh, has responded to reports circulating on social media alleging that he accused his boss of corruption.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Cllr. Kanneh dismissed the claims as false and misleading. He said the trending story suggesting a rift between him and the Director-General of NASSCORP, Dewitt vonBallmoos, was completely untrue and intended to create division within the institution.

According to the Deputy Director-General, at no time did he publicly accuse his boss of corruption or engage in any heated confrontation as reported online. He described the social media posts as malicious and designed to damage the reputation of both his office and NASSCORP as an institution.

Cllr. Kanneh stated that he maintains an “exceptional relationship” with Director-General vonBallmoos and emphasized that there is no internal conflict between them. He urged bloggers, journalists, and media platforms to verify information before publishing it, noting that spreading unconfirmed reports can mislead the public and harm the credibility of important public institutions.

This situation simply means that rumors spread online claiming there was a serious fight and corruption accusation between two top officials at NASSCORP is false and misleading according to the Drputy Director General, saying that those rumors are not true and that no such incident ever happened.

NASSCORP is responsible for managing pension funds for workers in Liberia. Because it handles money that retired workers depend on, any news about possible corruption can quickly cause public concern. That is why the Deputy Director-General says false reports can create unnecessary fear and confusion.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation of any internal dispute within NASSCORP. Cllr. Kanneh continues to insist that the claims are fabricated and has called on those spreading the information to stop.
