Africa-Press – Liberia. The recognition celebrates Wettee’s tireless contributions to the Liberian diaspora, particularly his leadership in the All Liberian Conference on Dual Citizenship (ALCOD).

The Liberian diaspora in the United States is set to honor one of its most distinguished leaders, Eminent Emmanuel S. Wettee, for his decades of dedicated service, community advocacy, and commitment to strengthening ties between Liberia and its global citizens.

Mr. Wettee, a longtime resident of Columbus, Ohio, and a retiree from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, was recently named the 2025 Recipient of the Knight Commander, Humane Order of African Redemption (KC-HOAR) — Liberia’s highest civilian honor, conferred by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.

The recognition celebrates Wettee’s tireless contributions to the Liberian diaspora, particularly his leadership in the All Liberian Conference on Dual Citizenship (ALCOD), which played a pivotal role in reforming Liberia’s dual citizenship law. Over the years, he has emerged as a respected voice for inclusion, civic engagement, and unity among Liberians abroad.

To celebrate this national honor, The Friends of Wettee will host a Grand Thanksgiving Honoring Program and Cocktail Reception on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 6:00 PM (EST) at The Ave, 4284 Macsway Avenue, Columbus, Ohio.

The celebration will continue with a Community Thanksgiving Worship Service on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM at River of Life Church, 3509 Refugee Road, Columbus, Ohio.

According to organizers, the events will bring together civic leaders, community organizations, and members of the African diaspora to pay tribute to a man whose life embodies “service, cultural pride, and community empowerment.”

Wettee, who has lived in Columbus for more than two decades, has mentored numerous African immigrants and championed initiatives that promote civic growth, social inclusion, and stronger Liberia–U.S. relations.

“This recognition is not just for me but for every Liberian and African immigrant who continues to work hard to make a difference both here and back home,” Wettee was quoted as saying in a statement shared by The Friends of Wettee.
