Africa-Press – Liberia. The Liberia Diplomatic Think Tank (LiDTT) has commended President Joseph N. Boakai Sr., the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Mme. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, and the Foreign Affairs Committees of the National Legislature for achieving remarkable diplomatic milestones that are strengthening Liberia’s global reputation.

In a statement issued in Monrovia under the authority of Mrs. Roseline Koi Weh, Acting Executive Director of the Liberia Diplomatic Think Tank (LiDTT), the LiDTT applauded the government’s success in advancing bilateral relations with key global partners, particularly the United States of America and France.

A standout accomplishment, the group noted, is the U.S. Department of State’s decision to extend the validity of B1, B2, and B1/B2 visas for Liberians from one year to three years under a revised reciprocity agreement. LiDTT described the move as “a historic extension that reflects the deepening of Liberia’s longstanding bilateral relationship with the United States and opens new avenues for diplomatic, economic, and humanitarian cooperation.”

However, the Think Tank cautioned Liberians to handle this new opportunity with integrity and discipline.

“We urge all Liberians to honor their country by adhering strictly to visa regulations, maintaining truthful conduct, and refraining from any misuse of this opportunity,” LiDTT stated. “Such respect for the law not only safeguards Liberia’s international reputation but also ensures continued goodwill and future benefits for all Liberians.”

LiDTT emphasized that while the visa extension marks a major diplomatic gain, it also comes with personal responsibility for every Liberian traveler. The group stressed that the government maintains a firm policy to prevent visa overstays, ensuring that the privilege is not abused.

In addition to the visa milestone, the Think Tank recognized Liberia’s distinguished selection to chair the United Nations Sanctions Committee on Sudan, as well as to co-chair the Committees on the Democratic Republic of Congo and Yemen, pending approval by the P-5 members of the UN Security Council. LiDTT said these roles, along with Liberia’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, signify “Liberia’s renewed and respected presence on the global stage.”

The group further encouraged the Boakai administration to sustain its diplomatic momentum by expanding bilateral and multilateral engagement worldwide, particularly to attract foreign investment opportunities vital for national development.

“We call upon every Liberian, regardless of religion, political affiliation, or tribe, to take collective pride in the historic visa extension milestone,” LiDTT urged. “This achievement is a national asset that benefits all Liberians equally and must be embraced as a unifying symbol of national progress.”

LiDTT also lauded Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti for her “resilient leadership” in pursuing Liberia’s associate membership in the Organization internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), describing it as a reflection of Liberia’s new direction in foreign policy and its renewed commitment to international cooperation and cultural diplomacy.

The statement concluded with a patriotic appeal, saying “The Liberia Diplomatic Think Tank remains steadfast in its support for these diplomatic advances and calls on all Liberians to honor their country by upholding the principles of integrity, respect, and patriotism.”
