Africa-Press – Liberia. The Free Liberia Movement (FLM) has reiterated calls for a sovereign national conference where citizens of Liberia may deliberate on envisioning a new blueprint and a new constitution for participatory democracy.

This conference, according to its organizers, aims to replace the current corrupt system that was originally envisioned by American slave masters and the government of the United States of America to perpetuate slavery and poverty.

FLM is a flagship advocacy arm of Universal Human Rights International (UHRI) and stressed the need for equal opportunities for Liberians through a U.S. visa waiver.

Rev. Torli H. Krua, founder of the organization, who spoke to journalists from Boston, Massachusetts via Zoom, said the conference will promote the rebirth of Liberia, give all Liberians an equal opportunity, and ensure that they are part and parcel of the country’s decision-making process.

He said, “We call for a Sovereign National Conference where citizens of Liberia may deliberate on envisioning a new blueprint and a new constitution for participatory democracy and replace forever the current corrupt system envisioned by American slave masters and the Government of the United States of America to perpetuate slavery and poverty.”

The activist told journalists that the Government of the United States, the creator of the colony of Liberia, must bear the cost for this exercise.

He has been advocating for the rebirth of Liberia since he launched the Free Liberia Movement a few years ago.

Through extensive research, including review of historical documents, Rev. Krua says Liberia was founded by the U.S. Government through a corrupt and crooked arrangement with the sole purpose of enslaving more Africans than granting them their freedom.

He also called on the U.S. to “Mitigate ongoing harm from racism, American colonization, and Slavery through public confession, repentance, restitution, reparations, and payments of damages.

Krua, a prominent Liberian human rights activist based in Boston, maintains that Liberians must only accept the outcomes of free, fair, and inclusive elections. If the process is flawed, fix it because Liberians will never accept a flawed, undemocratic, and corrupt process or its outcomes.

According to him, the United States’ call for accepting an undemocratic process that is not free, not fair, not inclusive and corrupt is not new.

The Free Liberia Movement activist is also expected to address Liberians, the USA, and the world during the celebration of the 41st anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Law in the US.

He continued, “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was told by the United States to stop peacefully marching for justice and civil rights. Nelson Mandela was declared a terrorist by the United States for fighting against apartheid and racism in his country. Even after Mandela was freed, the government of the United States considered him a terrorist and kept him on the US Terror watch list, even after he was elected President of South Africa and for 18 years until Obama was elected.”

Krua said that the 41st anniversary of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Law is the most powerful tool for peaceful coexistence. It can resolve the Gaza crisis, deep divisions in the United States, Russian colonization of Ukraine, and endemic corruption in Liberia.

He added, “This corruption results in ritualistic killings of babies by politicians in Liberia. Begin at the beginning! West Point, Monrovia, Liberia & Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, the poorest places on Earth were created by American Colonization and codified racism by the US Congress. “Charity begins at home.” America must clean up its own mess of colonization and occupation before venturing to clean up the mess of Russian Colonization of Ukraine and Israel’s occupation and colonization of Gaza.”

Krua alleged that the United States continues to colonize Native American nations, as well as indirectly colonizing Liberia through the systemic corrupt system of governance sustained unwittingly by American taxpayers.
