Ghanaian Embassy Dispels ‘Fake News’ Linked to President Akufo-Addo

Africa-Press – Liberia. The Ghanian Embassy near Monrovia in a statement, urged the Liberian public to disregard a “piece of fake news or false statement

ostensibly made to the ECOWAS Parliament by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana.”

The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana near Monrovia has clarified a fake publication circulating that the Ghanian President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo raised concerns at the ECOWAS parliament about Liberia’s President making unsanctioned visits to his country.

According to a publication circulating on social media, President Nana Akufo-Addo expressed dissatisfaction with President Joseph Boakai’s actions, deeming them unacceptable and a breach of protocol.

However, the Ghanian Embassy near Monrovia in a statement, urged the Liberian public to disregard a “piece of fake news or false statement

ostensibly made to the ECOWAS Parliament by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana.”

“The Mission categorically states that Ghana’s President at no point in time made the statement in question to the ECOWAS Parliament,”

The Mission however takes the opportunity to re-affirm that Ghana cherishes its close relations with the Government of the Republic of Liberia, and Liberians will always be welcomed in Ghana, the statement.

The Ghanaian Embassy stated that the Government of Ghana stands ready to cooperate with the Liberian Government in the mutual development of the two nations.
