Africa-Press – Liberia. Dr. Keith A. Hershey has returned to Liberia after nearly forty years, and his hope is inspiring and helping young Liberians while teaching the gospel.
Mutual Faith Ministries International, based in California, United States, has announced that it will partner with local churches to empower and elevate the lives of young Liberians.
Dr. Keith A. Hershey, President of Mutual Faith Ministries International, during his visit to Liberia on Sunday, 2nd November 2025, said the initiative is part of efforts to prioritize humanity and to heal broken hearts and minds through the words of God.
“For the most part, transformation happens in the hearts, because the world is broken, and we must teach people the word of God, help heal their minds, and provide assistance,” Dr. Hershey said.
Returning to Liberia for the first time since 1983, Dr. Hershey said his visitation is part of a transformation, as he expressed a desire to help young people.
“The world is very broken, and we must participate in stabilizing the hearts, and we are going to partner with churches in giving out materials and equipping people,” he stressed.
According to him, the assistance programs will cut across churches in Monrovia and beyond.
“We must help, we must teach, we heal, so what we want to do is partner with churches, help empowered people, give them materials, and put people in a place where they are to be equipped people,” he reiterated.
According to Dr. Hershey, the Mutual Faith Ministries International, California, has been engaged in humanitarian work, providing assistance and partnering with churches across the Middle East.
“We have campuses in the Middle East, the Philippines, and other countries, where we have been providing this assistance and teaching the word of God.
“All over the world, there must be hope, and the gospel brings hope; that is why we have come to Liberia, to heal the mind and help,” he said.
For his part, the senior pastor of the Hilltop Pillar of Fire Church, Rev. Luther Tarpeh, expressed excitement about receiving the inspirational man of God.
“We are excited about his visitation. You know, when I was a young Christian, I watched him on TV, state television, and ELBC, and seeing him today brings great excitement,” Tarpeh reflects.
Dr. Hershey and his wife, Heidi Hershey, founded Mutual Faith Ministries (MFM) in 1984 to connect with and train national church leaders worldwide.
He had first visited Liberia in 1983 and participated in the Monrovia for Jesus Conference, while providing biblical teaching on ELBC Television.
