Africa-Press – Liberia. The Inter-School Sports Association (ISSA) Football and Kickball League for the 2025/2026 season is scheduled to resume this Thursday, December 11, 2025, in four of the ten designated zones across Montserrado County.
ISSA President Evan Somah confirmed that the registration process has been completed and stated that the sports departments of all participating schools have been notified of their respective zones for the new league.
President Somah issued a strong caution to school sports directors, urging them to strictly adhere to match schedules to ensure the league concludes within its planned timeframe.
He warned that any school arriving 20 minutes late for a match will automatically forfeit the points to their opponents, emphasizing the need for promptness and discipline.
Furthermore, Mr. Somah appealed to all sports officials to maintain strict discipline and control students before, during, and after matches to prevent violence and disruptions.
Addressing the issue of conduct, Somah delivered a firm message to participants:
“I’m calling on sports directors of schools participating in the 2025/2026 league to control their students during game times. We will not leave any stone unturned, especially when it comes to students behaving in a rude manner. One of the main objectives of this ISSA league is to rejuvenate the human spirit of students from different schools in the sporting arena not for them to engage in violence.”
The ISSA President encouraged the association officials to continue collaborating as leaders of Liberia’s oldest school sports institution and to remain responsive to the concerns of member schools.
He stressed the importance of proper communication and teamwork when resolving issues among schools, noting that all decisions must reflect the best interests of both ISSA and its member institutions.
Platform for Future Stars
President Somah concluded by urging student-athletes to approach every game with respect and sportsmanship. He reminded them that exceptional performances in the ISSA league could serve as a platform, potentially earning them opportunities with LFA first or second division clubs.
As the new season kicks off, ISSA reiterated its commitment to promoting discipline, development, and sporting excellence across schools in Montserrado County.
