Law Firm Seeks Probe of Bomi Administrative Officer

Africa-Press – Liberia. The Liberia Law Group has petitioned the Ministry of Internal Affairs to immediately investigate Bomi County Administrative Officer, Mr. Alphonso M. Sherman, for allegedly exercising illegal authority over equipment and machinery worth more than US$2 2million, situated in Sakie Town, Bomi County.

The petitioner, in their communication to the Minister dated October 9, 2025, signed by Attorney Moiwulo Blama, claimed that Mr. Sherman has issued a letter notifying scrap dealers about his intention to sell earth-moving equipment that belongs to his client.

“Our client further intimidated to us that in order for Mr. Sherman to implement his illegal sales or intent, he, Mr. Sherman, has already started to cut our client’s equipment and or machineries into scraps”, the communication reads.

The law firm further claimed that, despite Mr. Sherman’s knowledge, their client had instituted a criminal action against Reginald Holder and Jehu Richards for the same equipment and/or machinery, and the Grand Jury subsequently indicted them for the 11th Judiciary in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.

Accordingly, the petition stated that, following a lengthy trial, the case was transferred to the First Judicial Circuit, Criminal Assize “C” Montserrado County, Republic of Liberia. After a prolonged trial, the case was concluded, and a Final Judgment was rendered in favor of their Client.

Premised on this letter, and the reason stated above, “we most respectfully request that you immediately intervene by putting stop to the illegal act carried out by the County Administrative Officer in person of Mr Alphonso M. Sherman, and or cite both our Client and the said County Administrative Officer, to a conference to further probe or investigate the allegations, levied against Mr. Sherman, by our Client to avoid potential conflict that might ensue as a result of the ongoing illegal actions. The document concluded.
