Liberia Football Association president, Mustapha Raji has described the Liberia Women U-17 as the superstars and Spartacus that stand as the last hopes to defend the colors of the flag against Nigeria on Sunday, June 9.
Liberia Women U-17 take on the Nigeria in the penultimate stage of the FIFA U- 17 world Cup qualifier.
But making remarks when the Liberia Women’s U20 team have presented the bronze and five pennants to following their heroic display at the WAFU ZONE A competition last month in Senegal where they finished 3rd place, Raji said the U17 and U20 need “the dream team” that only needs investments.
Despite applauding clubs’ presidents and stakeholders for their continuous investment in women’s football women’s football, he lauded government of Liberia for creating the space for the girls to play football, but cautioned the for support.
Said Raji, ” We want to always thank the government and still continue to look up to them for their support, attention, and investment towards women’s football.”
He added, “I’ll say to my U17 girls, you’re our superstars and Spartacus and our last hopes to defend the red, white, and blue on Sunday against Nigeria,” the president said.
“The U17 and U20 teams are our dream teams and requisite support, investment, and consistency, I see Liberia women’s teams participating in the Nation’s Cup in four years’ time,” Raji said
