Africa-Press – Liberia. A 15-year-old Liberian football player, Wilmot Aloysius Sampson, is determined to take his game to the next level.
After two years with the now-defunct Revelation Soccer Academy, the young center-back is hoping to join a new, advanced academy to further his development.
Sampson, a 10th-grader, recently attended a tryout for an academy.
His parents have assured him they are actively searching for a program with an advanced training curriculum to help him prepare for future challenges.
Sampson’s passion for football began at age six and previously trained with the Revelation Soccer Academy and played for his school, Seed Time School, on their junior high team.
Now, he aims to join an academy that will provide the specialized training needed to prepare him for major clubs in Liberia, which he hopes will be a stepping stone to an international career.
“I’m grateful first to God and my parents who have given me the assurance that I will be sent to a well known football academy here in Liberia so that I can learn more about the game,” said Sampson.
“I’m sure they are now in search of an academy with the best football programs that could help to improve my classroom education and football skills.”
He promised to make the most of every opportunity his parents provide, both in his education and football development.
“I can assure my parents that the opportunities they continue to provide for me in my classroom studies and football practices will not be misused,” Sampson added. “I will try my best to get the best grades and always be ready to listen to my coaches so that I will gain more skills in both areas of my life. This is for my parents’ joy and honor.”
