Africa-Press – Liberia. The Liberia National Handball Association (LNHA) has begun preparations for the 2025/2026 national league following a weekend meeting with officials and stakeholders at the open air Sports Commission on Broad Street.

The association confirmed that the new league season will begin in December 2025.

Although the exact date was not disclosed, LNHA President Aratus Larkpor said the league will kick off before December 15, 2025.

He urged all teams preparing to participate in the upcoming competition to complete their registration on time.

According to Larkpor, the LNHA expects 12 teams to register for the 2025/2026 season six teams in the male division and six in the female division.

He noted that all clubs have already been informed about the ongoing registration process.

Larkpor praised handball stakeholders for their continued support toward the growth and development of the sport in Liberia.

He encouraged them to remain committed as the association works to improve athletes’ skills and prepare them for future national and international competitions.

“I am pleased to thank all handball stakeholders in Liberia,” Larkpor said. “It is through their positive response to the LNHA’s calls that our national league continues to progress. I urge them to maintain their tireless support, because without it, our association would not be where it is today.
