Africa-Press – Liberia. Lonestar Cell MTN has donated a huge consignment of safety gear to motorcyclists and tricyclists in Monrovia as Police enforce public safety regulations in the capital.
In a bid to boost their brand and enhance the safety of tricyclists and motorcyclists, Liberia’s leading telecommunications company, Lonestar Cell MTN, has donated a huge quantity of safety gear, comprising helmets, reflective jackets, and umbrellas, among others, to riders of tricycles and motorcycles at Wroto Town Junction in Monrovia with support of the Liberian National Police (LNP) and the National Federation of Motorcycle and Tricycle Association of Liberia (NAFOMTAL).

Before the donation, the initiative was officially launched at the LNP headquarters on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Lonestar Cell MTN Mobile Money general manager Mr. Christopher Ssali said the initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of tricycle and motorcycle riders nationwide.

Mr. Ssali said that the management of Lonestar Cell MTN, which is moving to carry out its social responsibility, thought to make these donations for the safety of riders and passengers.

He thanked the LNP and NAFOMTAL for collaborating with Lonestar Cell MTN and promised that the telecommunication giant would work alongside law enforcement officers in future endeavors.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police for Administration, William K. Mulbah, thanked Lonestar Cell MTN for the donation, which he called “timely.”

Officer Mulbah said, “At first, there were a lot of issues regarding the regulation, but as we can see, our people are compliant because the safety of everyone is paramount, not only for the riders but also for the passengers.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Kokubah Zayzay, assistant director for the motorcycle and tricycle division at the Ministry of Transport, has extolled Lonestar Cell MTN for what he described as a great gesture made to the motorcycle and tricycle riders.
