In his remarks, UWUL Director for Training Mr. Vacus Wilmont Kun praised LPRC management, particularly acknowledging the cooperation of Mr. Jacob Julius Smith, Deputy Managing Director for Administration, throughout the negotiation process. He expressed confidence that all parties will respect and adhere to the terms of the CBA.
Minister of Labor, Cllr. Cooper Kruah, who served as a witness to the signing, highlighted the Government of Liberia’s commitment to safeguarding public interests by promoting industrial peace, enhancing productivity, and ensuring non-discriminatory employment practices.
He affirmed the government’s support for voluntary and rational negotiations, as exemplified by the partnership between LPRC management and the workers’ representatives. Minister Kruah also urged both parties to strictly observe the provisions of the Decent Work Act and the newly signed CBA.
The current CBA is the second in LPRC’s history, symbolizing the ongoing collaboration between the company and its workforce.
