Africa-Press – Liberia. Rep. Gahr praised the cyclists for their unity, patience, and dedication throughout the campaign and reaffirmed his commitment to continued collaboration.
Representative Clarence G. Gahr of Margibi County District Five has donated 20 motorcycles to the United Borlolah Parking Motorcyclists (UBPAM), fulfilling a campaign promise made during the 2023 general elections.
The donation was made on Wednesday during a presentation ceremony in Perkins Town, attended by local chiefs, elders, youth leaders, and residents from across the district.
Speaking at the event, Rep. Gahr said the gesture was in recognition of the commercial riders’ support during his reelection campaign. He noted that the cyclists played a critical role in grassroots mobilization and outreach during the elections, especially along the Kakata–Worhn corridor where most of them operate.
“During the campaign, these motorcyclists committed to assisting in grassroots mobilization and outreach, helping to spread my reelection message across even the most remote areas of the district. In return, I promised to empower them with logistics to improve their livelihoods and strengthen the local economy. Today, I am proud to say that I have fulfilled that promise,” he said.
Rep. Gahr praised the cyclists for their unity, patience, and dedication throughout the campaign and reaffirmed his commitment to continued collaboration.
“These motorcycles are not just campaign tokens; they symbolize a partnership rooted in mutual respect and shared development goals,” he said. “I thank everyone who stood by me during the elections, and I look forward to working together again in 2029.”
He encouraged the motorcycle union members to use the donated bikes for their intended purpose, stressing the importance of accountability and responsible ownership.
During the ceremony, Rep. Gahr also announced additional development initiatives for the district, including the deployment of two newly acquired road construction machines and the relaunch of a loan empowerment program targeting women entrepreneurs.
Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of UBPAM, Chairman Emmanuel Moses expressed gratitude for the donation and assured Rep. Gahr of the group’s continued support.
“We are thankful for this support and pledge to use the motorcycles responsibly to improve our economic conditions and enhance transportation services within the district,” Moses said.
