Africa-Press – Liberia. At least two persons have been confirmed dead, and several hospitalized in Kakata, Margibi County following a stampede at the Nancy B. Doe Sports stadium during a three days crusade by visiting Ivorian Pastor Mohammed Sanogo.

According to GNN Correspondent in the County, the incident took place early Saturday morning of November 20, 2021 at 6 o’clock as many eagerly crave to be the first to be blessed one of the kids fainted in the crowd causing a stampede as hundreds of children and their adult accomplices which led several children unconscious while health authorities confirmed two dead so far.

The kids been confirmed dead include, Ben Kamara age, 2years, and Jallah Mollay age 6years. Speaking to reporters, the father of the late Jallah Mollay, Mr. Zuannah Mollay said he received a called by 6:30 am that his child have gone unconscious at the stadium and needy oxygen upon his return he was told that his child is dead.

Mollay said he felt very frustrated about hearing about the sudden death of his son who he narrated died as a result of scuffle in the queue while expecting their gifts package.

“I feel very frustrated because, he did not get sick only to hear he is dead” Mollay Lamented. According to Mollay the deceased kid was accompanied by his mother at the stadium before the unfortunate incident.

“my woman told me that lead to his unconsciousness is that, the children were in the queue and other kids who came later wanted to go in front of the queue, so the securities try to arrange them and u will see the entire group will come in their huge number coming down and whoever that done have weight will fall down, so he fell and was walk on that’s how he begin unconscious” he said.

Maima Kebea aunt of 2years old Ben Kamara narrated that little Ben was on the back of his mother back when they both enter the stadium but due to the tension, the mother fell with him and the crowd stump over him which cause him to be unconscious and was rushed to Kakata Health Center where he was pronounce dead.

Meanwhile several others children are still undergoing medical attention at the Modern Clinic, Kohene Clinic and the Kakata Health Center. Up to till now there has no official response from officials of Impact Liberia Crusade as Pastor Mohammed Sanogo, organizer of the crusade left Kakata immediately after the stadium stampede under heavy security escort to Monrovia.
