Africa-Press – Liberia. The apology and pledge of renewed loyalty were delivered during a well-attended community assembly that brought together elders, traditional authorities, youth leaders and women’s groups.

Key opinion leaders in Fuamah District have publicly apologized to Representative Foday Fahnbulleh for not supporting him during the 2023 legislative election, admitting that their earlier decision to back former Representative Corpo Barclay was based on misunderstandings about Rep. Fahnbulleh’s development agenda.

The apology and pledge of renewed loyalty were delivered during a well-attended community assembly that brought together elders, traditional authorities, youth leaders and women’s groups.

Speakers at the gathering said they now fully recognize the path of development Rep. Fahnbulleh has charted for the district and are committed to supporting his reelection in 2029. They explained that during the last election cycle many residents lacked full clarity on the representative’s plans but have since witnessed enough progress to correct their stance and realign with his vision.

Throughout the meeting several residents expressed regret for their 2023 political choices and reaffirmed their confidence in Fahnbulleh’s leadership. One resident said they had come to understand the importance of consistent and reliable representation and now believe the district is advancing under the lawmaker’s guidance.

Another community member disclosed that their earlier decision was made in haste but that the improvements they have observed in infrastructure and social services made it clear that Rep. Fahnbulleh is delivering results that benefit everyone.

A youth leader explained that the district needs long term planning supported by stable leadership and credited the representative for proving that he can provide both.

An elderly woman who has lived through decades of political transitions said she rarely sees a representative who works with such steady presence and respect for the community and she believes the district must stand firmly behind him. Another resident emphasized that unity and development go hand in hand and that supporting Rep. Fahnbulleh in 2029 is necessary if Fuamah District is to build a stronger future for the next generation.

Madam Cecelia Cooper, the longest serving chairlady of Fuamah District, addressed the audience and acknowledged that many citizens did not fully grasp the representative’s developmental intentions during the 2023 elections.

She said misunderstanding often leads people to make choices they later regret and reminded the gathering that anything a person does not know becomes greater than them. She stressed that with improved understanding and visible progress the people are ready to support Fahnbulleh’s agenda with renewed dedication and stronger collective purpose.

Representative Fahnbulleh accepted the apologies and said the decision of the people to openly admit their earlier misjudgment reflects courage and maturity and reminded them that leadership must always be based on duty, transparency and compassion.

In his words he expressed that the overwhelming support is not only a political endorsement but a powerful demonstration of unity and shared vision. He further stated that he is deeply honored by the trust being placed in him and that the promises made toward the 2029 elections strengthen his determination to continue working relentlessly across all communities.

He added that the people’s willingness to reconcile and move forward together shows the true spirit of Fuamah District and he pledged to uphold their confidence with hard work, fairness and unwavering commitment to development.

Since taking office in 2023 Representative Fahnbulleh has initiated a wide range of development projects that residents say are already reshaping the district. These efforts include improvements to road networks that connect isolated communities, enhanced engagement with local leaders to address education, sanitation and health concerns, and targeted support to schools and youth programs.

Community members also credit him for being accessible and responsive, often returning to various towns and villages to hear grievances firsthand and resolve them. They highlight his advocacy for local development funds, his push for rural communities to have stronger representation in national discussions and his commitment to including women and young people in decision making processes.
