Africa-Press – Malawi. Consumer Association of Malawi (CAMA) has asked President Lazarus Chakwera’s Tonse government to have strategic plans on how will to end the current economic crisis.
In a statement ,CAMA Executive Director, John Kapito stated that government can not pretend as of the economy is doing well while Malawians are struggling negatively affected by these economic challenges.
Kapito said government should assure and give confidence to Malawians on the short term strategies that is implemented to end the challenges. He said it is shocking that government has failed to identify other sources of funding apart from its pursuit for an international Monetary Fund (IMF) facility.
Kapito observes that Malawians have been patiently waiting for a long time but no sign of recovery. Kapito therefore urged Chakwera to reach outside his personal advisors who are either his close friends ,family and relatives and involve many Malawians with possible solutions of recovering the economy.
Chakwera is unable to fix self-made economic mess characterised by high cost of living, fuel, drag, forex shortages in two years after assuming the presidency.
