Africa-Press – Malawi. Malawi Police have contradicted what Justice Minister, Titus Mvalo told Parliament earlier today that Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma was released unconditionally.
Mvalo lied to Parliament after the opposition pressed for a detailed explanation on Chizuma’s arrest. But it was clear that the Minister did not have a sensible explanation then. In a statement released 7 hours after Chizuma’s arrest, police indicate they have formally charged and released her on bail.
National Police Spokesperson, Peter Kalaya Says Director of Public Prosecution Steven Kayuni lodged a complaint that he was injured by Chizuma’s leaked audio in January this Year. This follows court order on her arrest. Chizuma has been however released and charged over the leaked audio.
