Africa-Press – Malawi. Malawians are not seeing any valid move from President Lazarus Chakwera to fix the current challenges facing the nation. It is now evident Chakwera has no listening ear to what Malawians are demanding from him.
President Chakwera is completely lost in his new job description and cannot fix anything. Pastors believe in miracles from the high most so he is still waiting for his prayers to be answered. President believes in prayer and God must perform wonders on his behalf.
I believe by now he understands the anger of Malawians directed towards him. The people of this country are demanding development, a stable economy, a corruption free government, subsidized fertilizers, jobs, cheap essential commodities from the manifesto promises he gave to the nation.
President Chakwera has no direction or plan to fight corruption or improve the economy. He still believes in kneeling down and praying in tongues as the only way way of getting to Canaan. The President keeps on telling people to be patient when it’s obvious that his cheaply established government is falling apart but he keeps making cheap reassurances with his poetic minister Gospel Kazako.
As we speak, Malawians are struggling in all walks of life. Malawi government is also struggling to get to work and fix the economy, corruption, rising cost of essential commodities, power outages, fuel shortages, foreign exchange shortages, and many more, that have been born during Tonse alliance’s tenure of office.
On Saturday 5 November, 2022, Chakwera sneaked out of the country to Egypt and he is expected to fly back on Friday 11 November, 2022. The President chose to sneak out for two reasons:
1) he was booed by angry Malawians in Lilongwe on Friday 4 November, 2022 for failing to deliver his own campaign promises.
2) the President is avoiding people’s attention who are asking him to cut down his local and international travels in the middle of several challenges rocking Malawi.
Actually, Malawians are reminding Chakwera to follow his own austerity measures which he put in place recently but to no avail. However, the President seems to be listening to his own voice.
