Africa-Press – Malawi. The Sponsors of the Central Region Football Association Premier Division league Chipiku Stores have hailed the 2022 season champions Extreme FC from Mchinji.
Brown Mkangama who is the stores’ Administration Manager said Extreme FC have showed a hardworking heart for winning the league this season after finishing as runners up to Dedza Dynamos FC in the 2021 season.
“It has been a very good season though with some hiccups here and there but our partners CRFA managed to handle them. Let me congratulate Extreme FC for winning the league, they gave out the best performance hence this is their prize.
“They must prepare well for the elite league as it involves lots of things, we want them to stay just as Dedza did last season”, Mkangama said. Mkangama said on Sunday, February 5, at Kamuzu Barracks ground where Extreme FC defeated LUANAR FC 0-3 in the ceremonial match.
The team won the league a week ago when fellow title contenders Silver Strikers RSV dropped points away to Wimbe United FC. Beston Jimu scored once while Chifundo George scored a brace for the Mchinji based side.
Extreme FC have finished the league with 21 points from 10 games, Silver Strikers RSV FC have 16 points on position two after collecting maximum points and two goals on Sunday following Support Battalion FC failure to show up at Bingu National Stadium.
Wimbe United FC finished on third with 14 points, LUANAR FC on position 4 with 10 points; they drew 7 games, won 1 and lost 2 games. Mbabzi United FC are on 5th with 8 points while Support Battalion FC finished on position 6 with 7 points after failing to honor three fixtures. Meanwhile the prize presentation is anticipated to take place on 18th February, 2023 on yet to be disclosed venue by the CRFA.
