Africa-Press – Malawi. The National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) has indicated that construction projects are prone to changes, making close monitoring and transparency key to the sustenance of trust.
NCIC Chief Executive Officer Gerald Khonje said this in Dowa District on Monday, when council officials trained civil society organisations (CSOs) leaders in the use of Information Platform for Public Infrastructure (IPPI).
IPPI is an online platform used for sharing construction work-related information, giving CSO leaders and interested parties access to project information.
Cost International secretariat representative Evelyn Hernandez urged CSO leaders to utilise the online platform to access important information pertaining to projects.
Cost Multi-Stakeholder Group Chairperson Joe Ching’ani said transparency would be key to successful implementation of public projects. Mathews Kasanda is a journalist who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from University of Malawi (The Polytechnic).
