Africa-Press – Malawi. Dedza Dynamos are still waiting for official communication from Central Region Football Association (CRFA) on their promotion to the TNM Super League. Dynamos won the regional title after a 1-1 stalemate against Extreme FC at Dedza Stadium last month.
The Dedza side’s general secretary Mavuto Mgode said they were finding it difficult to start preparations for the Super League in the absence of official communication.
“We are worried with such delays. We needed confirmation about our status in the Super League. We are failing to start our preparations as the official communication has not reached us.
“In the interim, we are engaging qualified coaches and other experienced players from Super League clubs to come and join us as we prepare for this journey,” Mgodi said. Mgodi said they were also working on improving their home ground Dedza Stadium so that it meets club licencing requirements.
“We don’t want to play our home matches away from Dedza. This is a community team and people of Dedza should enjoy watching their team at home. We are doing renovations together with the town council. We want to turn the match venue into one of the best in the country,” he said.
CRFA Chairperson Austin Ajawa said they were yet to serve Dynamos with a confirmation letter because of their remaining fixture against Wimbe United. “We will meet soon to fix a date for this match. There were some wrangles involving Dynamos and Wimbe and we are working on handling this matter professionally. We will do the needful once the game is played,” Ajawa said. Dynamos are the second team from Dedza District to earn Super League promotion after Dedza Young Soccer in 2014 under coach Millias Pofera.
