Lazarus Chakwera attends Sadc summit Wednesday

Africa-PressMalawi. President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to depart for Mozambique Wednesday, where he will attend an extra-ordinary Southern African Development Community summit with other heads of State and government.
The President’s Executive Assistant Sean Kampondeni said this Monday during the State House press briefing at Chikoko Bay State Lodge in Mangochi District.
Speaking later, State House Press Officer Brian Banda urged Malawians to be more patient with the current administration as it works towards fulfilling campaign promises.

Banda said Malawians should expect more, in terms of job creation and public infrastructure development, from the current administration.
“The government has plans to create more jobs through road infrastructure projects and the tourism industry once the budget is passed, such that Malawians must not lose hope,” he said.
He said the President was also committed to the development of sound infrastructure, citing Chakwera’s plans to construct Mangochi-Makanjira Road and Mangochi- Katuli Road.
