MAFCO breaks Bullets virginity: TNM Super League

Africa-Press – Malawi. Nyasa Big Bullet’s virginity in the TNM Super League came to an end on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Dedza Stadium as Malawi Armed Forces College (MAFCO) produced a sparkling performance by humbling them 1-0.

Zikani Sichinga’s strike at 40th minute in the first half after Bullets defense failed to deal with the long back pass to Richard Chimbamba from Kesten Simbi was enough to help MAFCO breaking the unbeaten run for Bullets in their 26th game of the season.

Dan Chimbalanga was a marvel to watch from MAFCO FC who made several dangerous attacks from the wings.Alfred Chilinda blew the whistle ending the half with the host leading narrowly by a goal to nil and on top of their game.

The Soldiers dominated the good part of the first half especially in the midfield and they were always second on the ball.Bullets just created one chance in the first half through Anthony Mfune who was denied by the post.

Bullets struggled to play their passing and supporting game due to poor condition of the pitch while the host mastered the bumpy and dry pitch too fast.

In the second half Bullets FC head Coach Kalisto Pasuwa made some changes to bring back the grip in his side,Stanley Billiat replaced Misheck Selemani,Alick Lungu came in for Chimwemwe Idana while Hassan Kajoke replaced Anthony Mfune. Bullets kept searching for the precious goal but it was no where to be found.

Kesten Simbi’s effort was denied by Blessings Kameza, MAFCO FC goalie at 71st minute.Babatunde came closer to find Bullets equalizer but he missed while alone in the box with Kameza already beaten.

Stereo Gondwe also made changes to defend his narrow lead and to make sure they register special record in the 2022 season.Mphatso Philimoni was replaced by former Baroka FC attacker Richard Mbulu, Paul Phiri came in for Auspicious Kadzongolo.

The loss means the gap between Bullets and the second placed Blue Eagles FC who defeated Mighty Wanderers FC 1-0 at Nankhaka Stadium on Saturday remains five points.
