Africa-Press – Malawi. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has expressed deep concern over the condition of the boys hostel at Nsanje Secondary School, following a viral video showing worn-out mattresses and poor facilities.
In a statement seen by Malawi24 posted on the Ministry’s official Facebook page, says that mattresses were initially earmarked for Nsanje District Secondary School in July last year but were diverted to Chayamba and Kasungu Secondary schools.

The statement also outlines that the Ministry is currently developing and implementing rehabilitation plans for government secondary schools to ensure that hostels, classrooms and other learning facilities provide safe, dignified and conducive environments for learners.
The ministry has also said that as it works to address the immediate needs at Nsanje Secondary School, the government remains committed to improving infrastructure and other facilities in public secondary schools.
