Africa-Press – Malawi. LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Salima Primary School teacher at Lifidzi, Margret Munthali on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 emerged as an overall winner of Standard Bank’s MK6 million Tisanje Promotion.
Munthali won the grand prize following final draw of the promotion conducted at Standard Bank head office in Lilongwe. Apart from her, other five customers also won MK100,000.00 each, two others have walked away with MK300,000.00 each and one person got MK500,000.00 for the month of October.
The promotion aims at ‘helping customers in these hard economic times’ through rewards and encouraging them to access the bank’s services through the internet.
When Standard Bank official called Munthali for the good news, she could not believe until sees the money. Asked on what will do with the money, Munthali plans to build a house with the funds.
“Though, I’m excited, I will believe when I see the money. However, I will use the money to build own house as I’m now tired with rentals”, says Munthali who has been with the bank since 2017.
Standard Bank’s Head of Consumer & High Net Worth Clients Charity Mughogho expressed satisfaction over the promotion’s intended goal. Mughogho said despite the overall winner being low income earner, the promotion has contributed 9% growth in digital usage and increased transactional volumes by 12%.
“As a bank that believes in the validity of our clients’ dreams, we have offered cash prizes which can be used by each winner to support their personal ambitions.
“I’m also very happy to witness the grand prize winner being a primary school teacher in a remote area such as Lifidzi in Salima. This prize will change her life for better,” lauds Mughogho. The three months promotion that started in August this year ended on November 9, 2022.
