Africa-Press – Malawi. A 22-year-old woman identified as Chikondi Chinyama has been arrested in Dowa for allegedly killing her two year-old daughter. Dowa Police Spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha has confirmed about the arrest of the women.
He said the woman is suspected to have killed the child yesterday at around 6 O’clock at Mikolo Village in T/A Msakambewa’s area in the district. According to M’bumpha, the woman bathed the baby and ordered her to go to her grandmother’s house.
However, the child did not do as advised. This angered Chinyama who allegedly assaulted the child to death before dumping her body at one of the graveyards in the village. The police spokesperson said eyewitnesses reported the matter to police who managed to apprehend the suspect.
