Africa-Press – Mauritius. The President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), Mrs Florizelle Liser, met the Prime Minister, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, today, at the Treasury Building in Port-Louis.
She was accompanied by the Ambassador of the United States (US) of America to Mauritius, Mr Henry V. Jardine and other dignitaries.
Following the meeting, Mrs Liser described the meeting with the Prime Minister Ramgoolam as excellent. “I worked for a long time within the US Government, and I had the privilege of meeting Dr Ramgoolam for the first time during one of his early years as Prime Minister,” she stated.
Discussions, she highlighted, focused mainly on the organisation of the US-Africa Business Summit, which will be held in Mauritius from 26 to 29 July 2026.
She underlined that the Summit will showcase the initiatives undertaken by Mauritius particularly the diversification of its economy, its leadership in the financial services sector, and its efforts to promote investment as well as the opportunities offered across the rest of Africa. “This will be the 18th summit, and the seventh time that an African country will host it,” she pointed out.
The organisation of this event in Mauritius represents a major opportunity for the country to strengthen its international visibility and consolidate its role as a key platform for investment in Africa, she underscored.
