Africa-Press – Mauritius. A delegation from the United Arab Emirates led by the Director General of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) of Dubaï, Mr Salem Humaid AlMarri, paid a courtesy call on the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, today, at the State House in Réduit.
The Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, Mr Darsanand Balgobin, and the Chairperson of the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC), Dr Kaviraj Sharma Sukon, were also present.
The delegation is on a two-day visit to Mauritius from 23 to 24 January 2023. During his visit, the Director General met with the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Alan Ganoo.
In addition, the delegation visited the Ground Station and Roof Antenna of the MRIC and the School Satellite Outreach project at Rajcoomar Gujadhur State Secondary School in Central Flacq.
A Framework Agreement aiming to reinforce cooperation in the field of outer space and space technologies was also signed, yesterday, between the MRIC and the MBRSC.
