Africa-Press – Mauritius. In its endeavours to providing better and timely specialised healthcare services to patients, the Ministry of Health and Wellness launched on Saturday 01 April 2023, the Decentralisation Programme of Medical Specialties for the northern region at the Triolet Mediclinic.
The Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Kailesh Kumar Singh Jagutpal and the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Protection and Minister of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training, Mr Soodesh Satkam Callichurn, were present at the launching ceremony.
The initiative aiming to ease the lives of patients and decongest specialised services at Regional Hospitals is in line with Government’s vision to enhance health care facilities. It is expected to relieve patients of long hours of waiting and facilitate access to specialised medical services.
The specialised services which will be available to patients on appointment and for those requiring regular monitoring of their health include amongst others cardiology, orthopaedics, gynaecology, ophthalmology and specific surgery. It is recalled that the Ministry successfully launched the Decentralisation Programme in the South last year.
