Africa-Press – Mauritius. Hassan Kajoke struck twice in the second half to inspire FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to a 2-1 victory over Goshen City Dedza Dynamos and lift the 2025/26 Castel Challenge Cup at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
After a goalless first half, Kajoke broke the deadlock in the 57th minute before doubling the lead in the 79th minute from the penalty spot after Dedza conceded a foul inside the box.
Dedza refused to go down without a fight and pulled one back in the 83rd minute through Chikondi Mbeta, setting up a tense finish. However, Bullets managed the closing stages well to secure the trophy.
The triumph marks Bullets’ second Castel Challenge Cup title, having won their first in 2023.. Interim coach Gilbert Chirwa praised his side’s response after the break.
“We are very happy. The players followed our halftime instructions because we went into the break at 0-0. I must also commend Dedza for giving us a tough fight,” said Chirwa.
Dedza coach Alex Ngwira remained proud despite the defeat.
“We are ending the season with our heads held high. Bullets deserved it because they utilized their chances. I am proud of this group of players,” he said.
Bullets reached the final after eliminating Mzuzu City Hammers, while Dedza Dynamos had edged out Blue Eagles to book their historic appearance in the final.
