We will also launch new services such as selling treasury bills at our counters. With our Internet Service Provider licence (ISP), we are expecting more revenue in the future.
Where are your plans to become an ISP and to provide Public Access Points? The MPL has obtained an ISP licence. We are in a joint-venture with the State Informatics Limited (SIL) and a company equally owned by MPL and SIL, Mauripost.

The Mauritius Post Office and Coopera-tive Bank is financing the project and we intend to start this year. Right now we are busy with the transfer of the General Post Office to the former MCCB Bank.
What are the non-traditional services that the MPL will offer apart from the ISP ? In addition to the ones mentioned, we may be planning post shops, outsourcing and financial services, and maybe integrating ATMs in our post offices.
Are the problems recently caused by the corporatization solved? The problems we had to face are behind us. We have just signed an agreement with the trade unions so that any employee can opt to join MPL or not. But there will be no guarantee that those who choose not to join will automatically be offered a job in another government sector.
