Africa-Press – Mauritius. The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, saluted the hard work of the officers and volunteers who were providing any support and service as needed to the pilgrims at Grand Bassin in the context of the Maha Shivaratree festival. The President, accompanied by his family, came to offer his prayers and performed the rituals at Grand Bassin, this afternoon.
President Roopun visited the various emergency service posts set up at Grand Bassin, namely the Mauritius Fire and Rescue Service post, the Mauritius Police Force Tactical Headquarters, the medical post of the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the first aiders and responders posts as well as the Prime Minister’s Office National Task Force Secretariat.
