Maha Shivaratree National Celebrations: Prime Minister effects pilgrimage to Grand Bassin

Africa-Press – Mauritius. In the context of the national celebrations of Maha Shivaratree 2023, the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, accompanied by his spouse, Mrs Kobita Jugnauth, effected, this afternoon, the pilgrimage to Grand Bassin from his Residence at Vacoas.

The Prime Minister, along with his spouse, also thereafter participated in the official launching ceremony of socio-cultural activities organised by the Mauritius Sanatan Dharma Temples Federation at Grand Bassin as part of the national celebrations.

Several Ministers, including the Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun; the High Commissioner of India to Mauritius, Mrs K.

Nandini Singla; Members of the National Assembly; and other personalities, were present at the event. It is to be noted that Maha Shivaratree 2023 will be celebrated on Saturday 18 February.
