Africa-Press – Mauritius. A delegation of Members of Parliament and future political leaders, consisting of Mrs. Marie Alexandra Tania Diolle, Mrs. Joanna Marie Bérenger, Mr. Soobeersingh Dhunoo, Mrs.

Subhasnee Luchmun Roy, Mr. Muhammad Ismaël Rawoo, Mr. Dhananjay Ramful, and Mr. Adrien Duval, are currently attending the Gen-next Democracy Network Programme in India.

The programme is an initiative of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), being held in context of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commemorating the 75 years of India’s independence and her glorious history, culture and achievements.

Young delegates including members of political parties, entrepreneurs and rising leaders, from five countries namely Paraguay, Uganda, Thailand, Czech Republic and Mauritius are participating in the fourth batch of the programme from 08 August to 17 August 2022.

During the programme, the delegates will be visiting the Parliament of India, the Observer Research Foundation, the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other places of cultural and academic significance.

They will also have various rounds of interactions with the institutions of educational, cultural and historical eminence and will interact with prominent young ministers of India and other dignitaries.

ICCR is an autonomous organisation of the Government of India with an overall mandate of promoting Indian culture abroad and furthering cultural ties with the rest of the world. Its activities encompass cultural, academic and intellectual exchanges.

The programme will acquaint young leaders of a total of 75 democracies with India’s culture, heritage and the ‘Idea of India’ by showing India’s contributions to addressing global issues through its democratic worldview.
