Africa-Press – Mauritius. Maldives has started exporting frozen fish to Mauritius. STO’s Managing Director Hussain Amru said the chilled fish left for Mauritius on a private boat.

According to Amru, the boat left on Thursday evening. Amru said the ship was carrying 2,000 tonnes of chilled fish. Of these, 500 tonnes will be canned in Mauritius and exported to Europe, he said.

Previously, Maldives exported frozen or chilled fish to Thailand. The company said it would benefit MIFCO to start exporting chilled fish to Mauritius. MIFCO is a subsidiary of STO.
