Africa-Press – Mauritius. A soft-launching of the Out-Patient Department Services of the New Cancer Hospital (New Building – Phase 2) was held this morning. The soft launch precedes the official inauguration of the New Cancer Hospital which is scheduled around the end of March 2024.
In a statement, the Regional Health Director, Dr Dhanraz Gopal underlined that the Out-Patient Department is being launched to kickstart services to cancer patients who were seeking medical treatment at the Victoria Hospital in Candos.
He observed that cancer patients will be offered improved services, recalling that chemotherapy treatments are already being provided at the New Cancer Hospital. The Regional Health Director pointed out that all Out-Patient Services will henceforth be provided at the New Cancer Hospital.
Furthermore, Dr Dhanraz Gopal informed that a range of high-end equipment is being installed, and stressed that the New Cancer Hospital is expected to be fully operational by the end of March.
