Africa-Press – Mauritius. A newly wrapped Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) of the Metro Express, aiming at promoting the activities of the State Insurance Company of Mauritius Ltd (SICOM), was unveiled, today, at Port Louis Victoria Station, during an official ceremony organised by Metro Express Limited (MEL).
The Chief Executive Officer of MEL, Dr Das Mootanah, the Chief Executive Officer of SICOM, Mrs Nandita Ramdewar, and other personalities were present on this occasion. In a statement, Dr Mootanah highlighted that the SICOM chose to wrap one LRV of the Metro Express as part of its rebranding activity.
He expressed satisfaction as regards the partnership between MEL and the SICOM, and reminded that the Metro Express project was an innovative endeavour, bringing about infrastructural improvement in Mauritius.
Furthermore, Dr Mootanah provided details regarding enhancement and embellishment works being carried out along the Metro Express track so as to cater for the quality of life of citizens.
He also underlined that trial runs were being effected from Port Louis to Curepipe, and that this route would soon be operational. For her part, Mrs Ramdewar commended the MEL-SICOM partnership and thanked MEL for providing its support to the SICOM in its rebranding exercise.
