Africa-Press – Mauritius. The first regional gathering in District No. 8 (Military District – Moka), organized by’Alliance du Changement, s’was held this Saturday, October 12 in Dagotiere.
This event also marked the’inauguration of the regional district of the’alliance. The supporters, proudly displaying the red, purple, blue and yellow flags, marched to the sound of the title « Ale Navin », currently viral on TikTok.
The three candidates of the’alliance – Babita Thannoo, representative of Rezistans ek Alternativ, Dhaneshwar Damry of the Labour Party (PTr), and Govinden Venkatasami of the Mauritian Militant Movement (MMM) – were presented during the evening.
Babita Thannoo expressed her gratitude to the voters, whom’elle described as being animated by’a « particular devotion. She welcomed their choice to support this alliance « not for personal gain, but to defend justice ».
The candidate of the left did not fail to criticize the rise in the cost of living under the current’administration, led by the Socialist Militant Movement (MSM).
Govinden Venkatasami, for his part, urged supporters to remain mobilized. « We will straighten this country. We have an appointment with’history, and we must not miss it« , he warned.
Finally, Dhaneshwar Damry reassured supporters of the’alliance’s commitment and the’urgency to change the government. « Change is coming, and we will always be by your side », he concluded.
