Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Romania to Mauritius, Mrs Monica-Cecilia Sitaru, presented, today, her credentials to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, at the State House in Réduit.
Mrs Sitaru has a four-year tenure and is based in Pretoria, South Africa. In a statement, she indicated that it is a privilege and honour to present her credentials to the President while adding that she received a warm welcome. Discussions, Mrs Sitaru emphasised, focused on ways of cooperation in sectors such as education, tourism and trade as well as economic relations.
The similarities in the touristic fields between both countries, in terms of sites inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List such as the Danube Delta and the Le Morne Cultural Landscape were also discussed at the meeting, she said.
The Ambassador conveyed that more and more Romanians want to spend holidays in Mauritius. She also seized the opportunity to commend the food and the beautiful landscape of the country.
