The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education of Sierra Leone calls on VPM Dookun-Luchoomun

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education and Chief Innovation Officer for the Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation, from the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr David Moinina Sengeh, paid a courtesy call, today, on the Vice-Prime Minister (VPM), Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, at the MITD House in Phoenix.

Dr David Moinina Sengeh completed his Bachelor’s degree at Harvard University in Engineering Sciences in 2010, where his research focused on aerosolised vaccines for tuberculosis.

Later, he completed his PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he developed award-winning inventions and technology for human augmentation.

Prior to his appointment as Sierra Leone’s Chief Innovation Minister and Education Minister, he worked with IBM (in Nairobi and Johannesburg), applying data analytics to questions of public health.

Dr Sengeh is an innovative leader and is recognised globally as Forbes 30 Under 30 in Technology (2013). He is also a senior TED Fellow and a National Geographic Emerging Explorer. He has published several academic articles and patents.
