Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Ministry of Arts and Cultural Heritage is organising, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, a series of live concerts with the finalists of Indian Idol and India’s Dancing Superstars as well as local artists to mark the National Divali Celebrations 2022.
The entrance free Divali shows will be held at the Municipal Council of Curepipe on 14 October; at Petit Raffray Football Ground on 15 October; and at Quartier Militaire Market Place on 16 October.
In that context, the Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Mr Avinash Teeluck, received, today, at his office, in Port Louis, Indian Idols contestants, Ms Sayli Kamble, and Messrs Nihal Tauro and Mohd Danish.
In a statement, the Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage highlighted that Divali will be celebrated with great fervour and public performances, this time, at the national level, after festivities were upended in the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On that score, he underlined that the Arts and Culture Ministry was bringing talented performers to the Mauritian public. Mr Avinash Teeluck added that he was looking forward to the shows that the artists would put on during the concerts.
For their part, the Indian Idols contestants spoke of their excitement to perform live in Mauritius and to meet the public. They expressed also their gratitude to the Mauritian fans for supporting them and invited them to come and enjoy the concerts.
