Africa-Press – Mauritius. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative for Mauritius and Seychelles, Ms Alka Bhatia, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Mr Lutchmanah Pentiah in Port Louis yesterday.
Discussions focussed on UNDP’s commitment to continue to support the enhancement of the Mauritian public service.
Minister Pentiah highlighted that several projects are currently being implemented in collaboration with the UNDP in terms of training, capacity building and availability of resource persons. This is being done in line with Government’s aim for a transparent, efficient, resilient and accountable public service. Avenues of cooperation between the Mauritian Government and the UNDP in the field of poverty alleviation were also discussed, he said.
Mr Pentiah recalled that the Ministry and the UNDP have already started an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) project, which is a digital solution designed to manage, store and track electronic documents and images of paper-based information. EDMS services streamline document handling processes, ensuring efficient organisation, retrieval and sharing of documents.
Ms Bhatia reaffirmed UNDP’s partnership with the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Reforms as far as digitalisation and capacity building are concerned.
