The individual alleged to be a “prophet of Jehovah’s Witnesses” detained by the police in the city of Quelimane for the crime of premature union is not one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and, according to our records, does not associate with any of our congregations. We are guided by the Bible, and therefore we reject the act of premature union and respect and abide by the Mozambican law that considers premature union a crime. These news reports should be corrected.
The protection of minors is a matter of utmost concern and importance to all Jehovah’s Witnesses. Accordingly, Jehovah’s Witnesses publish numerous Biblebased materials to help parents fulfill their responsibility to protect and instruct their children.
