President Chapo Begins Working Visit to Inhambane Province

Africa-Press – Mozambique. President Daniel Francisco Chapo is, from today ,July 30th to Friday, August 1st, on a working visit to Inhambane province, focusing on Vilankulo district, a press release issued by the presidency reads.

During his stay in Vilankulo, the head of state will chair the IX National Meeting of District Administrators, which is being held under the motto: “Transforming the District into a Planning Foundation and a Driver of Local Development”.

This meeting provides an opportunity for dialogue and evaluation of the districts’ performance within the framework of decentralized governance and the implementation of national priorities at the local level.

Also in Vilankulo district, the President of the Republic will deliver plots of land to beneficiaries as part of the government’s efforts to ensure orderly access to land and to promote adequate housing and productive land use.

On the same occasion, President Daniel Chapo will officially launch the nationwide Infrastructure Land Project, a structural initiative aimed at providing urbanized and accessible spaces with basic services and infrastructure, in order to stimulate land use planning and local economic development.

As part of strengthening the economy at the community level, the Head of State will also launch the Local Economic Development Fund (FDEL), an instrument aimed at financing productive initiatives in the districts, aiming to generate income, create jobs, and boost local economies.

This visit underscores the head of state’s commitment to strengthening local governance, improving the living conditions of the population, and promoting sustainable and inclusive land management throughout the country, the press release concludes.
