Africa-Press – Mozambique. Mozambique and Cameroon served up an engaging opening 45 minutes as the two sides headed into the break locked at 1–1 after a lively first half. With both teams showing attacking intent, the contest produced two goals inside the opening half-hour to keep fans firmly on edge.
Mozambique struck first in the 23rd minute when Geny found the back of the net, rewarding his side’s positive start and momentarily putting the Mambas in control. Cameroon, however, responded swiftly, drawing level just five minutes later after a Nene own goal restored parity and shifted the momentum.
Despite Mozambique’s early breakthrough, Cameroon enjoyed the greater share of possession, finishing the half with 54 percent of the ball as they pressed for dominance. With the scores level at the interval, the second half promises to be intriguing.
