Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Commercial and Investment Bank (BCI) and the Mozambique-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CCMI) recently renewed the cooperation agreement between the two institutions. This act reaffirms their joint commitment to promoting solutions that strengthen socioeconomic relations between Mozambique and Italy.

The ceremony in Maputo on Thursday (28-08) was marked by the signing of the agreement between BCI Director George Mandawa and CCMI President Simone Santi, symbolizing the continuity of a strategic partnership that began in 2017 and was strengthened in 2020 and 2023. This collaboration is based on mutual trust and a shared vision for the future.

On the occasion, the BCI Director emphasized the importance of this cooperation for the country’s development: “By signing this protocol, we are committing to continue adding value, generating positive impact, and working side by side with partners like the CCMI for the economic and social development of Mozambique,” said George Mandawa.

“The now-renewed protocol will allow us to deepen the creation of business relationship networks, stimulate bilateral investment, and promote projects with economic and social impact, reinforcing BCI’s position as a driver of development and inclusive banking for communities.”

For his part, the CCMI President emphasized the relevance of the partnership:

“This cooperation represents not only an advantage for our institutions, but also an added value for the country, by creating business opportunities and shared development between Mozambique and Italy,” said Simone Santi.

With this partnership, BCI reaffirms its commitment to supporting Mozambicans and economic agents, driving concrete initiatives that promote growth, financial inclusion, and the sustainable development of the country.
