The First International Conference on Industrialisation and Agribusiness (CIAGRO) was launched in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, scheduled for June 18-19, 2026. The event aims to identify investment opportunities, establish public-private partnerships, and promote technological innovation to enhance economic growth and development in the region.

Africa-Press – Mozambique. The First International Conference on Industrialisation and Agribusiness (CIAGRO) was officially launched on Saturday (25 April). CIAGRO is scheduled to take place on 18 and 19 June 2026 in the city of Pemba.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Cabo Delgado Governor Valige Tauabo explained that CIAGRO will enable the identification of real investment opportunities, the establishment of public–private partnerships (PPPs), the creation of agro-industrial clusters, the promotion of technological innovation, as well as the strengthening of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives.

Cabo Delgado Province is one of the most promising regions in Mozambique, endowed with vast natural resources, high agricultural potential and a privileged geostrategic location for regional and international trade.

For this reason, the Governor of the Province believes it is essential to maximise the transformation of resources into wealth, opportunities into employment, and economic growth into inclusive and sustainable development.

For his part, the Secretary of State in the Province, Fernando Bemane de Sousa, said that CIAGRO represents a decisive step towards the transformation of the resources held by the province, and subsequently invited participants to play a leading role in promoting the conference.

Cabo Delgado Province, rich in natural resources and agricultural potential, is strategically positioned for trade. The region has faced challenges but is now focusing on maximizing its resources for sustainable development.
