Africa-Press – Mozambique. Between July 28 and August 1, 2025, district-level workshops were held in Vilankulo, Inhassoro, Govuro, and Mabote, aimed at presenting and validating the results of the Participatory Climate Vulnerability Analysis (PCVA) and the preliminary proposals for the Community-Based Adaptation Action Plans (CAAPs), under the CBA-Scale+ project.
The sessions followed a participatory methodological approach, fostering active engagement of local communities and various institutional and social stakeholders in the processes of diagnosing and planning climate change adaptation measures.
During the meetings, findings from consultations conducted in 48 communities covered by the project were presented, highlighting identified climate risks, impacts on livelihoods and well-being, existing response capacities, and resilience factors.
The CAAP proposals were collaboratively discussed and validated, serving as guiding instruments for the implementation of appropriate and resilient solutions. The workshops also enabled the collection of additional technical inputs that enrich the planning processes.
Participants included representatives from district technical services, such as the District Services for Economic Activities (SDAE), Planning and Infrastructure (SDPI), Health, Women and Social Action (SDSMAS), the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD), and District Planning and Development Services.
Also in attendance were members of the Provincial Multisectoral Technical Support Team for the Project, coordinated by the Provincial Delegation of INGD, as well as representatives from the private sector, civil society organizations, community associations, and community-based organizations (CBOs).
The activities were organized by the project’s implementing partners, namely IUCN, CARE Mozambique, FANRPAN, Peace Parks Foundation, AJOAGO, and MALHALHE, in close collaboration with district and local governments.
