Africa-Press – Mozambique. Some of the teachers dismissed in Vilankulo district, Inhambane, have appealed to the Administrative Tribunal to try to overturn the local government’s decision. They allege irregularities in the initiation of the disciplinary proceedings, which, they claim, could lead to the decision being reversed.
After being notified in July by district authorities of their dismissal, some of the teachers dismissed for allegedly being members of Renamo have decided to appeal to the Inhambane Administrative Tribunal.
They allege irregularities in the process that, they argue, could lead to the decisions being annulled.
In their appeal, the teachers also contest the grounds for the decision, arguing that misconduct cannot be attributed to those who never took office.
According to documents we have access to, disciplinary proceedings against the teachers were initiated on January 13, 2025, and concluded 122 days later, on May 15 of the same year.
